Change is good!

So the news that I've been waiting to share is official now! Colin, Gideon and I are going to be part of a new church plant in Pennsburg starting this fall! One of our pastors from Faith, John Buckley and his family, have had it in their heart for quite awhile now to do this. God worked in ways that showed them that now is the time. We prayed about being a part of this for some time and finally decided that this is where God would like us to go. Already there are 12 other families committed. It will be an exciting journey for sure. I have grown up at Faith and have many wonderful memories and growing times there, but I'm so excited about this. I will keep updating on how God is working.

In other news, Gideon is maturing and changing in many ways. He is almost 10 months now! He is crawling all over the place and pulling himself up to a standing position now. I guess walking will be the next step! He is really enjoying his food now. It took him awhile, but he can't get enough of it now. I think the problem was that he didn't really enjoy the baby pureed type foods and would much rather eat "real people food" and feed himself. So that's what we've been giving him now. Oh, and thank you to those who recommended those disposable sippy's. Those work great for him!

Here's a few of my favorite pictures from the past month.

go, go, go!

Well, life has been busy lately and I haven't taken the time to blog much. Gideon keeps me moving everyday, all day! He is 8 months now and is trying to figure out how to crawl. He's full of energy and not content to be in one spot for very long anymore. He gets bored very easily, so we find reasons to get out of the house a lot! He loves being outside. One of his favorite things to do is watch the cars drive by on our road. He gets so excited and kicks his little legs when one speeds by! I wonder if "car" will be one of his first words? I'm still working on getting him to eat more solid foods. He doesn't seem to have much interest in them. I can usually only get him to eat one meal of solids a day at this point. Bananas are one fruit he will always eat for me. Pears with cinnamon seem to be his second favorite. I did just introduce yogurt to him and he seems to like it. He still cannot get the hang of his sippy cups! I've tried three different kinds with no luck. He'll get it eventually. We gave him his first taste of ice cream this week. Here is a picture of his reaction to the cold feeling!

He really did like it though!!

As for other parts of our lives, God has been working in our hearts about a possible change. We are still praying about it and hope to have more details soon! It's an exciting opportunity and we're anxious to see how God leads. We'll keep you updated. For now, I must go. Gideon is napping (finally!) and I need to shower and bake something!
